Marcy Sperry is a seasoned Intellectual Property attorney who focuses her practice on trademark clearance and registration, trademark enforcement, and IP litigation. Marcy’s trademark enforcement practice includes litigation in state and federal courts as well as opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Trademark Trial & Appeal Board. Clients rely on Marcy to vigorously defend their domestic and international trademark portfolios in a vast array of industries, ranging from fashion, hotel, restaurant and hospitality to biotechnology and professional services. Marcy also represents clients in copyright counseling, social media and related internet IP enforcement, and domain name disputes.

By developing effective branding strategies, Marcy helps her clients protect and monetize their valuable brands. In terms of branding strategy, Marcy says: “In today’s global economy, companies live and die by their brands. So, selecting a strong brand that is both legally protectable and marketable is critical.”

Marcy began her legal career in 2002 as an associate at King & Spalding LLP in Atlanta where she gained invaluable litigation skills.  She then spent over a decade practicing in the Intellectual Property Group at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice LLP in Atlanta. She also practiced at The Sladkus Law Group, a preeminent IP firm in Atlanta, where she served as Of Counsel and managed her own trademark practice. Marcy uses her extensive big-firm experience to provide her clients with superior IP legal protection, but with the highly individualized attention exclusive to a boutique firm.

Marcy is also actively involved in several legal organizations, including the Lamar Inn of Court legal society, the Intellectual Property Section of the Georgia Bar, and the International Trademark Association (INTA) where she serves on the Public and Media Relations committee. In addition, she has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in Intellectual Property by Georgia Super Lawyers magazine.

Outside of practicing law, Marcy can be found at the baseball or soccer field cheering on her three active boys. She also enjoys playing tennis, skiing, and hiking.
